Mike Peters has been a leading international corporate communications player in aviation and defence for many years. He has held senior appointments for UK blue chip companies including Akzo Nobel UK, BAE Systems, Lucas Industries, Rolls-Royce and the Westland Group.
He is familiar with both Whitehall and Westminster having worked for ten years as a government information officer. He was the Senior Army Press Officer in the Ministry of Defence during the Falklands War having earlier worked in the Army Press Office in Ulster at the height of the Northern Ireland Troubles and also ran the Casualty Communications Centre during the First Gulf War.
In the Territorial Army he attained the rank of Colonel and finished his near 40 years service in volunteer uniform on the staff of Director Corporate Communications (Army) in the Ministry of Defence. He was Commanding Officer of the British Army’s Media Operations Group for seven years.
Mike is a committee member of the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association in the South East of England; he is also National Chairman of the Pen & Sword Club, an all-arms organisation, for serving and retired officers of media operations units within Britain’s Armed Forces. He has a major networking capability in the communications and media worlds.
An associate of CMS Strategic, Mike runs his own communications consultancy, MPC Communications, and is an associate director at MDA Ltd. Mike is married to Patricia, his hobbies include sailing, tennis and golf.
